Buddy Buddy starring Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau

Director: Billy Wilder

Essential Actor / Actresses Here

Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau paired up for this black farce about two men constantly standing in each other's way. When fussy TV censor Victor Clooney learns that his wife is sleeping with a sex therapist, he rents a hotel room where he plans to end his life. Next door to Clooney is cynical mob killer Trabucco, who has mortal plans of his own. His window overlooks the steps of a courthouse, and he has a bullet ready for the stoolie scheduled to appear before the grand jury and testify against Trabucco's boss. Though Clooney and Trabucco first ignore and then curse one another, each eventually tries to thwart the other from committing his respective killing. They might even forge something that resembles friendship.
