Fritz Lang Films

Amazon.com:
The son of an Austrian artist, Fritz Lang's career was born in the shadow of the Great War and matured as storm clouds gathered over Weimar, Germany. His early films adopted and extended the techniques of German expressionism, culminating in the heightened psychological realism of M, in which terror seems to seep out of the characters to infect the city itself. As the Nazi grip on Germany tightened, Lang left the country, arriving in America in 1935 to take up a contract with MGM. His first American film, Fury (1936), set the stage for the uncompromising, dark, and violent vision that he would bring to Hollywood. Lang's work could tip over into overwrought melodrama, but when he was in top form his nightmarish movies had a unique and unforgettable power.
