Roy Hill began as a stage director, launching his film career
by bringing two plays from Broadway to the screen. A movie star's
best friend, Hill gave many actors their best against-type roles,
including Peter Sellers (The World of Henry Orient), Julie Andrews

Keaton (The Little Drummer Girl). Clean and consistent, he made
Robert Redford a star in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, then
